the enrollment process

This is awesome! How do i get started?

Select your life-changing accomplishment(s) on our "courses" page

If you go to our "Courses" page (in the top menu), you will find our list of 12 courses that we offer right now. Clicking on any one of them will give you a deeper description of that course.

Choose the one that looks right for you, and click the button to enroll.

As you complete the checkout process, your payment will be processed through the site, and you will be enrolled!

set up a student gmail account

Since so much of what we do in this course is done through the Google eco-system (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, Forms, etc.), having a student Gmail account is a requirement.

It is free.

We would recommend having a separate Gmail account for your Frontier Courses, as that will prevent course correspondence from getting lost in a junk box somewhere.

We would also recommend that you keep the same Gmail account for all of your Frontier courses that you take, as that will enable you to maintain your data that you have saved on your Google Drive to be able to use it in other courses where there are tie-ins.

It is important to note that this is the student Gmail account. This is how the instructor is going to communicate with students. This is how the instructor is going to identify students. This is how the instructor is going to allow various permissions on different Google apps that will be necessary for completing assignments. The student should be the one that is signing into the course, with this email account, in order to enroll.

Your instructor is not trying to prevent parents from seeing what their students are doing, and we welcome family involvement in various discussions that we bring up, but the instructor will be communicating with students directly, and it is not appropriate to have parents "in the classroom" while a student discussion is going on.

If a parent has a question about what is going on in a particular course, the instructor will have his email address available for the parent to use to ask a question. You can also use the "contact" information contained on our "Contact" page. Another way that parents can get visibility without having to write the instructor is that they can have their student log-in to the account, and then look to see what is happening and how they can best help their student to accomplish their assigned tasks.

Get your access code

Once you make your purchase, you will be sent a link to a form that you must fill out in order to receive your student's access code. You will only be asked for name, age, email, and zip code. Please use your student Gmail account that you created to complete this form. Once you have completed this short form, you will be "invited" into the classroom for your course. This should take no more than 48 hours. If there is a longer delay than this, please do not hesitate to contact us as info@thefrontierchristian.com. You will also be given your access code at this time so that you (the student) will be able to enter the classroom and begin reading the pre-start materials in preparation for the beginning of the course on 27 August 2018. DO NOT LOSE THIS INFORMATION!!! It will be your ticket to your course. They will allow you to get into Google Classroom and see the coursework that you are expected to do, take part in discussions, and get the instructional modules. Without these two pieces of information, you are locked out of your course! So, please, print them off and store them safely, as well as keeping them online in a place that you can find them.

Complete the student data form

Once you have access to your course page, you will see a "Student Data Form." We are collecting minimal data for each student, but there are certain things that we need in order to make sure that you are part of a course. We will also use completion of this form to determine if the student has been able to log in to the course, or if we need to take action to resolve technical issues. We are not trying to be invasive, but we want to have the ability to include them on course correspondence that they will need for their success.

Keep up with the "pre-start" communications

As you will have seen in the syllabus for the course that you have chosen, the start date for all courses is 27 August 2018. This corresponds to the start date for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, and it seemed like a good time to start back to school.

Once you have access to your course, we are not going to leave you hanging!

You will have access to various "pre-start" materials that will give you a leg up on course completion, as well as keep you informed as the start date gets closer.

You will also have an opportunity to "opt-in" and get access to other special deals and discounts that we offer in the future.

Get ready to work, come course start time!

Our courses provide an opportunity that is not available through any other high school in the world!

Each and every course will require each and every student to accomplish something that they will be proud to list as a resume entry for the rest of their lives.

But that's not easy. And that's why no one else is doing it right now (among other reasons).

It will require work.

And a lot of it.

But here is my promise to you: I will not waste time on busy work. All of the work that you will be doing will be focused on accomplishing something meaningful. All of the time that you spend will translate into something that you can showcase proudly in your adult professional (and in some cases, personal) life.

We don't care "what X equals"!

Get ready to change the world!

Welcome to the Frontier!!!
