David E. Mugg: Founder and CEO of frontier christian academy
My name is Dave Mugg. I am a retired military officer, a published author, a certified teacher (in North Carolina), a high school football coach, and many other things. I am looking forward to breaking down the barriers to accomplishment and trying to open up a better way to do education than you will get most other places.
I graduated from West Point in 1994 with a Bachelors in German and Arabic, with a Mechanical Engineering Track. After about 12 years in the Army as an Infantry and Special Operations (Psychological Operations) officer, I graduated with a Masters from the Naval Postgraduate School in Defense Analysis (sort of an applied international relations with some other really cool courses.) My last couple of years in the Army, I got another Masters (studying at night) from University of Phoenix in Secondary Education.
I ran the Army Special Operations Language School from 2007-2008, where we taught over 1400 students, from 3 different branches of the Army, 10 different languages, running two shifts for six days a week. Relationships that I formed with other agencies enabled me to raise passing score rates by 40% in one year!
I am a certified teacher in North Carolina for high school in Social Studies (everything from Psychology to Geography and everything in between), English Language Arts, and Mathematics.
